Remember the summer? That big orange ball in the sky? Sun cream, shorts and flip-flops? Well get over it, as that’s all but a distant memory. Welcome to winter!
Back in the blazing hot summertime you were probably cussing every time that ‘nuisance’ 12oz skimmer snaffled your cube of meat or that ‘nuisance’ 8oz roach gobbled up a 6mm pellet intended for carp. Fast forward to today and we’ve had countless hard frosts, the lakes are now much clearer, target weights are lower and every fish and every bite is now precious, whether it’s 2oz or 12lb. There are few nuisance species at this time of year. Every one of them is certainly more than welcome in my keepnet!
